On 15th February 2008, Telkom Indonesia held a gathering for customers, “Towards your Digital Environment, Speedy Customer gathering”. An appreciation award was given to Telkom’s customer Loreen Neville Djunaidi, Chairwoman of Roving Insight Executive & Diplomatic Club. Neville, received the award because of her complains and opinions based on facts, this, thus gave an invaluable input to Telkom to rectify, customer’s complains. Telkom in order to improve its customer relationship services has thus created its monthly customer gathering to hear the aspirations and problems of their customers by Telkom upper echelon management. Telkom management intends to improve its services and also to further encourage the usage of Speedy Telkom.
On the 15th February 2008, a sit down dinner with Questions and Answers forum was organised by Telkom. On board the panel, from the Indonesian Government, North Jakarta City Mayor Effendi Anas, from the Foundation of Consumer Protection Indah Sukmaningsih, from the Industrial sector Managing Director Suhanda Wijaya from PT. Malifax, consumer Soleh with the MC Moderator Miing, a TV show presenter who said later that he will join the political party PDI-P in the next coming elections 2009.
Attending the event was Linda Rawin and of course Loreen Neville. Prior to the event a sms text was sent to Linda to dress formally. Linda came in red and was noticed by Miing who enjoyed a moment teasing both Linda and Loreen the only expatriate-citizen present. The crux however was when, mentor Neville told Linda to take the photographs of the participants. “Hey, I can't move as fast said Linda with this flashy red dress.” Neville after taking a couple of photographs replied, “that this is nothing. What’s important is that we get the pictures; “you should see me when I attend the Ambassadors functions. The ladies were all dolled up with gowns but I will take the Ambassadors pictures and names of their guests in gown too by myself and when the picture didn’t look right, I would ask all the Ambassadors to repeat the pose informing, this will be on print, so the pictures must be good. While many ladies would want the company of the Ambassadors, but the ambassadors would enjoy and prefer my company. Sometimes, when entering the function floor, the Ambassadors, would wave from afar and usher to me over, laughing. I would say to them, laughing too, Sirs, is my face funny, do I look like a clown? But in reality they were laughing because of the way I walked, very tomboyish in a gown, most of the time in pant suits.”
In short, said Neville to Linda “don’t worry about how you will look but the results of what we came here for”. Linda replied, “I thought we came to receive your award?” “Ya and that too”, Neville said. Apart from receiving the award prize, Neville won a lucky draw number and gave the winning number to Linda to take the prize, a wireless Speedy Modem. The first prize lucky draw winner received a complete set of home theatre sound equipment.
Upon reaching Neville’s residence, ripping the wrappings off, Loreen could not wait to see her award. “Wow, it was a Time piece-pure Bohemia Crystal” and in the door prize goody bag which every participant received, a computer mouse, a hot cold drinking mug and a parker pen embossed with the site www.telkomspeedy.com.
Loreen was so pleased with her present that she immediately put it on the book shelf of the Library, and then she noticed something missing. “Pity said Neville, Telkom forgot to engrave the Time piece of the event. This is important said Neville, because she would like to add it to the collection of letters from the government, recommendations from private sectors and all trophies acquired for her grand children, should she have any”.
